DescriptionWolf Birds are well known on the island of Delv Ihoo. They ended up with the name "Wolf" bird not due to their appearance but rather their interest of prey. Wolf Birds are known to hunt on young wolf pups as they often catch them with their talons and then drop them from a high distance to the ground which results to a fast kill. When these birds are in groups they tend to be more bold and often eat their prey alive fighting among one another to rip of as much meat as possible. This said, they prefer living in groups together for safety as they are often targeted by wolves even when wolves aren't hungry. Among the group they can be quite social but during feeding time they get extremely aggressive even towards one another. Wolf Birds are actually not feared during the day unless a pack consist of pups, but rather during the night. When the sun sets these birds can transform into dangerous creatures towering wolves. It is during night that these birds also hunt juveniles as females on the other hand are known to hunt adults. The screams of a Wolf Bird during the night are so intimidating that it even scares of bears. During the mating season in spring the males preform a courtship dance in order to gain the attention of a female. A female lays around 4-5 eggs which take around a month to hatch. Female wolf birds are excellent mothers as they often succeed in raising their chicks till adulthood.
AppearanceWolf Birds almost give the illusion as if they have fur rather than feathers, but in reality they have a unique plumage. Their feathers are softer than most and almost resemble a pelt rather than feathers. Unlike most birds they have a wolf like tail and have darker colored feathers on their face, wings, legs and tail while their tongue is green. They feature a red beak, red feet and red eyes. The only gender difference is the size as the female birds are much larger than the males.
HabitatWolf Birds can be found almost everywhere except for the snow area. They can be found in most forest and mountain area's as they are rarely seen on open plains. They are quite common in the desert as they are said to live near an oasis.

Ability(ies) / Power
Wolf Birds do not posses any type of element, but they do have a unique power which allows them to change forms during night. They increase not only in size but also in power, as an attack by their feet or beak can end up deadly. When in this form they will bite their prey to shake it endlessly until the force of shaking alone kills their prey or rips of body parts. Aside from this they have no other unusual powers to attack with.
Reproduction
A female Wolf Bird becomes sexually mature around the age of 2, while males reach maturity after 3 years. They follow a breeding season just like wolves which starts in February and stops at the end of March. These birds mate for life and aren't known to change partners unless their current partner died. To attract a mate the males will fight other males in order to prove itself worthy, when succeeded they will preform a courtship dance to establish their partnership. During breeding seasons the females are extremely aggressive as the males have to display an extremely submissive posture in order to mate. Both the male and female will gather sticks to make their nest as the female usually lays a clutch of 3 eggs. It takes around 55 days for the little chicks to hatch. A young wolf bird depends on it's parents for around 1 years before it becomes fully independent and leaves the nest. A young Wolf Bird reaches it's maximum size around 5 months.
