A past of pain
SummaryThe episode opens up to the Ghost Pup’s desert base, where Seth is getting ready to leave with Kane standing by him. Seth seems to brush off the fact that it’s going to be dangerous, where Kane scolds him, but then warns him that he is not to tell Kaitou, in fear of him being unpredictable about the situation. Seth doesn’t seem to take it seriously, and it’s shown that Kaitou is, in fact, eavesdropping on them, not pleased with their little faith in him despite doing exactly what Kane said.
The scene cuts to Cobor arriving at the BlazingWood pack’s border. He summons Tachira, a summoning caracal, and they prepare themselves for the attack, however Cobor seems pleased by seeing Flora outside of the pack… At the same time, the Travelling group: Matt, Kala, Takaya, Mutt and Ruuza arrive at the BlazingWood pack. Their arrival is announced by a guard, and shortly after Flora storms to greet them. Matt is surprised to see her so quickly and outside of the pack. Matt reunites with his mother, shortly followed by Mira who greets Kala. However, when Terro appears he’s not very pleased with his son for disappearing for several years without a message. However, when he sees Flora already being there he turns to her, and Flora quickly changes the subject to avoid answering his question, where Terro for the first time notices the rest of the small group. However, as Krypton appears Kala gets more defensive as he isn’t pleased with Ruuza’s presence. Kala tells him off and that Ruuza is their child now, much to Krypton’s shock, but the pack moves inside to talk more, Terro shown as being more gentle and kind to Ruuza. When the travelling group settles inside the pack camps, Kala and Matt tell their parents what happened. It's not shown how much they tell, but it’s revealed they told them briefly of what had happened. Krypton seems impressed by the story, but he quickly tells the younger ones of the group to leave so the adults can talk. Ruuza is not happy with this, but she, Mutt and Takaya leave so the adults can talk. Krypton doesn’t hesitate, and jumps right into asking Matt and Kala if they are aware of the danger following the White Wolf, revealing that he too knows Chaos is after Ruuza. Matt tells him they’re only looking for the truth and Terro tells them to go to the Otoma pack because they might know the answers they’re looking for. It’s also revealed that Matt knows of the dangers that can follow Ruuza, and says they won’t stay in the pack for long before they have to go. Terro then asks them for more details of what happened with the younger ones gone. The scene cuts to Ruuza, Mutt, and Takaya. Ruuza is not happy with being told to wait where she can’t hear what they talk about, and Takaya is lost in thought with memories of what her mother told her to befriend Ruuza - something Takaya doesn’t seem too confident in doing. The scene cuts back to the adults as they finish the story a few hours later, and Krypton expresses how he doesn’t see why the Azure Dragons would bless such a pup. Mira seems proud of Kala and Matt adopting her, while Matt is concerned about her as she lost her parents at a very young age. Terro is curious of the parents, and when Matt describes them it’s revealed that he has heard of them, and that Luna and Locin used to be leaders of a pack not far from where the BlazingWood pack is. Mira suggests to visit it, but Kala doesn’t want to in fear of not knowing the allegiance and loyalty of the cosmic pack, and Terro points out how odd it is that Ruuza lost her memories. Krypton asks about Mutt, confused why a parent would name their pup Mutt, but Terro states that is a good kid, but mentions in his thoughts that he thinks he’s hiding something. Matt asks about his mother, and Mira takes him away to lead him to her. Meanwhile, Kala calls Ruuza and the other two over and she introduces her to her parents as well as Mira and Flora who is not with them. Ruuza is startled by Krypton, and Kala tells him to stop scaring her. Argon, Kala’s brother, rushes to her after hearing the news and is very happy to see her, and it’s revealed that Krypton has been hesitant to teach him how to be a leader for the simple fact Argon is not symbolized. Kala is not pleased when she hears this, and then mocks Krypton for being beaten by Mira who isn’t symbolized either. Argon is surprised to see Ruuza, who again is scared by more staring wolves, and Kala tells Argon that they’ll tell him about it all later. It’s revealed that Argon has also followed a similar path as his sister, as he has become mates with a plant wolf, Flower. The scene cuts to Matt entering the cave of his mother Flora. At first he’s confused, and wonders if his mother has grown fat. Flora is not happy to hear this and scolds him, much to Matt’s confusion. She then tells him he’ll soon have little brothers or sisters, and in joy he runs out of the cave in happiness. Ruuza tries to dare Mutt to eat a worm, but they’re interrupted by Matt who runs past them to Kala and gives her the good news. Flora comes out of the cave as well, stating that she’s happy to see that Kala and Matt has gotten a new child. Ruuza catches this, and asks her parents. At first, Kala and Matt are reluctant, but Matt then tells Ruuza that she and Kala used to have pups before: Leaf, Fire, and Nalyda, but they were killed when Rose, Flower’s sister, turned traitor. She, together with two followers scared the pups and chased them into a forest, where they were killed and almost eaten by a bear. Rex saw this, and let out a warning howl and tried to stop Rose but she knocked him out before anyone could come to the rescue, and when they came it was too late. Matt is unsure why Rose did this, but he mentions that her markings changed colors, mentioning as well his markings changed too but there was no difference when his did. Matt and Kala killed Rose’s followers, but they both left shortly after in grief over losing their pups. Ruuza is shocked and sad to hear this, but Kala says their lives changed when they found her and that they’ll always love her, no matter what. Krypton is touched by the emotion and decides that Ruuza deserves a new chance as his granddaughter. Mutt is sad to hear the story too, thinking of his parents while Takaya questions if what she’s doing is the right thing. The scene cuts to the mountains where Sator has been given the news of Ruuza. He mentions how quickly it spread that Chaos was able to kill Ruuza's parents, how it spread chaos and fear into all the Dark Cities that were attacked and destroyed by the Hero and Shadow Clans, and that since his brother tried to reach Ruuza in time but died mysteriously, and he assumed Ruuza would be dead too. Sator then decides he’ll keep an eye on her from the outside. It’s revealed nobody knows Sator is alive, who confesses that he is feeling like a coward for staying in the safety of the pack while all the attacks and massacres of his people have continued around him while he never helped them. It’s revealed he is from the Dark Cities as well, but he says he hopes he doesn’t meet the Ghost Pups after what he’s done, yet he is surprised that they’ve grown so strong over the years. It’s revealed that Sator is Ruuza’s uncle. He mentions how odd it is that they’re here after she lost her memories, but they wouldn’t be pleased to meet him. He decides to travel alone, despite his injuries. At the end, it’s revealed that Sator speaks a nephew being still alive. |
