Lunar pack
The Lunar pack was one of the most famous packs. To the Dark Cities, they were known as "the followers of Kumiko". Despite being the first pack that was slaughtered, they also were known to be the strongest pack of the Dark Cities. The leader of the Lunar pack was known as "Kratos" and was first mentioned in episode 4. Ruuza has ties with this pack as well. The Lunar pack eventually came to an end through the Shadow and Hero clans assault.
History
The Lunar pack consisted of wolves of two species, the Cosmic species and the Electric species. With both species being quite powerful, it became one of the strongest but also the most skilled packs among the Dark Cities. The Lunar pack consisted of only Cosmic wolves first, but later on merged with another pack, known as the "Dorya pack", to become one. The wolves were allied to all the other Dark Cities or "followers of Kumiko". It is said that the first descendants of the white wolf of legends, "Kumiko", became Cosmic wolves. Eventually, they left their species' birthplace to travel through the world and find a new home. When the Great Meeting took place, it was an ancestor of Kratos who disagreed on the rules that the Hero Clans wanted to force upon their society. When that wolf left the meeting, the very same wolves who would eventually become part of the Dark Cities joined him. Even though their community was demonized, they had one another, and so the Lunar pack was born among the many other connected packs of the Dark Cities.
The Lunar pack had a very different way of passing on leadership as opposed to merely depending on roots. Sometimes leaders would be voted for, and sometimes the children of the current leader would take over. Kratos himself became an orphan at young age, and eventually, he was chosen by the pack itself to become the leader. The leading position is usually given to a wolf couple. The Lunar pack was known for its ranks such as thief, assassin, torturer and bounty-hunter. But they were obliged to follow the strict laws involving these ranks, as the rank "torturer" wasn't supposed to be used in a form of entertainment but only when necessary. This pack was also known for having an obedience camp, which was often mistaken to be something cruel, when in reality it was used to teach wolves respect for their friends and pack and to put them on the right track again if needed. The Lunar pack was close friends to a pack of Forester wolves from the Dark Cities that lived nearby. Once Kratos became the leader of his pack, he greatly improved many things, and the pack strives to evolve and grow into a place all wolves can be happy in.
Years later, when Kratos himself was a proud father of four, a mysterious wolf came to his pack, asking them to take in a pup called Luna, as her own pack had been attacked. Kratos, who offered the adult wolf a home in his pack as well, was left stunned when she refused and only cared about the safety of Luna. Kratos eventually took Luna in and asked one of his friends, who had children at the time, to adopt Luna. Luna grew up to be not only one of his most skilled warriors, but also the mate of Locin and the mother of Ruuza. The end of the Lunar pack came three years after Ruuza's birth, when the Shadow Clans and Hero clans attacked. Most adults were killed, including Kratos.
Obedience camp
The Lunar pack worked with an obedience camp system in order to maintain harmony and encourage good behavior. It was known that wolves from other Dark Cities packs were sent here to be taught about the Dark Cities. Not every wolf would be sent here, though. This camp was specifically created for troublesome children and wolves that showed signs of disrespect for their own kin and pack. Once such behavior was perceived, those children were sent here to learn. This camp worked exceptionally well, as it ruled out traitors or wolves that could harm their own pack. This way, the Dark Cities have been known to be one of the only packs in existence to not have any issue whatsoever with traitors or wolves that where a danger to themselves. The pack believed that with the right treatment, any child that was troublesome could grow into something great, which Kratos was the perfect example of. Kratos himself ended up here for his behavior and came out a whole different wolf. He eventually became a leader even after having been quite the troublesome teen. With the downfall of the Dark Cities, the current survivors will face all kind of new troubles as they cannot deal with troublesome teens. They have little experience or even knowledge of these camps.
Practiced skills in the Lunar Pack
The most well known ranks practiced inside of the Lunar pack were thief, assassin, torturer and bounty-hunter. To earn this rank, the wolves had to be tested and approved by a teacher of this rank. They always kept a strict eye on whether that wolf would or would not benefit from that rank. Wolves that would potentially enjoy harming others would be kept away from ranks like torturer to make sure that, at all times, a wolf in the pack took it' rank serious and remain calm. All wolves that were to become a true member of the pack would complete a training process involving hunting, or experience in combat. These ranks were specializations to earn another rank. Some wolves preferred to be the defense of the pack, gaining them a soldier rank. Most wolves in the Lunar pack that had obtained a special rank were soldiers as well, and they gained experience through field work. Another hidden practice was also known among the Lunar pack, specifically it was only known between them and their Shadow allies that didn't live so far from them. It's not considered a rank but rather a training. It was called "torture training". This was even a practice questioned within the Dark Cities. But basically they would torture their own kind in order to make them resistant to torture. Wolves could only go through this if they themselves wanted it. So no wolves were ever forcefully trained. Luna is one of the only wolves known, to have succeeded her training shorter than most wolves, which was 5 years.
