KeganilKeganils are birds not to mess with. Compared to many small birds they have a fiery attitude. Because of the nasty after effects they aren't a preferred snack to most animals. To wolves they are far more troublesome than it would be worth to hunt, but larger birds definitely take their chances upon these birds. The males will often make themselves stand as tall as possibly to show dominance towards other males, while the females in general are more peaceful. Keganils are known for the variety of sounds that they can make, but they can even fool the surrounding animals as they can imitate the screams of various animals which they use to scare of possible danger. Keganils are solitary until they found a partner that they will stay with. When it's cold or rainy they ill move close to one another generating heat in order to stay warm. Keganils never remain at their nesting area, as they are known to travel and stay from place to place. This sort of traveling has led to populations appearing in many forests on Delv Ihoo. Being insectivores they are actually a lot more active during dawn and night searching for insects. During the days they relax, sleep or if needed leave a call to look for a partner. Keganils when not bothered are gentle.
AppearanceKeganils differ from looks, both of them feature a dark black marking on their face that ends partly on their chest. While the males have a brightly colored red tail, feet and facial marking which ends on their chest the females have the same but in a different color which is a lighter type of brown. Both feature black toe nails, black beak and a black coloration on the wing. This tone of black is different than that of their facial marking. Both male and female have red eyes. The females are colored brownish to allow them to blend in better compared to the males who stand out.
HabitatKeganils existed were the fire dragon had risen, as they were effected by it's powers they were very common in the mountains. But over the years they have traveled and populated area's they originally didn't have before. Now they are almost everywhere to be found except for the snow like area.

Ability(ies) / Power
Keganils both male and female posses power, just like fire wolves they have the possibility to spit fire even though the amounts compared to a fire wolf are far more little. They use this fire in a form of defense to scare of possibly predators as they also have another unique effect, when scratching with their talons on a possible enemy or rival they can leave behind some nasty burns on the body of the animal. As their talons generate fire as well.
Reproduction
Both male and female Keganils become sexually mature around 1 year old. They follow a breeding season just like wolves which starts in March and stops at the end of April. These birds mate for life, only if the current partner dies might they consider a new partner. To attract a mate male Keganils will sing a song, as they can make a variety of different sounds. The most outstanding sounds usually attracts a female, if the female approves both will preform a courtship dance to establish their bonds. As they are nesting Keganils are known for looking for pieces of fur, as they often built and construct their nest of of branches and fur. A female usually lays a clutch of 4-5 eggs, it takes around 18-20 days for these eggs to hatch. A young Keganil will depend on it's parents for about 6 weeks, they will reach their maximum size around 1 year old. Once they leave the nest these birds are known to return and look for their parents as in paying them a visit.
