DokumeDokumes stand out compared to many reptiles, they are known to be one of the few that mate for life. They are very closely attached to one another, and they spend their time relaxing and sleeping during the day, hunting and feeding during the night. They can often be found in groups living together for safety, as the males will often protect the females from incoming danger. Only when a pair is nesting will they leave a group and spend time alone for a long time. Dokume are a favorite snack of the Tsurian snake species as they are immune to poison and therefore the Dokumes have become their favorite prey. Although poison wolves have been seen to eat them they are not a preferred snack as they are quite small and couldn’t fill up an adult wolf. Dokume has sharp teeth which can bite through bone, which makes them less attractive in being a meal as less animals want to risk it. Dokumes dig holes into the ground to spend the night, or sometimes make a stable and solid den it will use for the rest of their life. Dokumes love swimming and they can be easily found in piles along the river that crosses the Poison forest and use the river to hide from predatory animals. Other than being near the river they prefer sleeping on branches. These animals are known for is their long lifespan as an individual can grow older than a 100 years, which makes them one of the oldest creatures on the island of Delv Ihoo. Some of these creatures have been known to sleep or build their nesting grounds inside poison wolf territory for protection. In return for protection of the wolves, an individual will travel with a wolf, often riding it’s back, and show were larger prey is hiding as their taste of smell is one of the strongest of all animals on the island. A case where prey and predator work together for food and safety.

While the males feature yellow stripes on their tail, the females feature white stripes. Ability(ies) / Power
The Dokume is not listed as elemental, as poison can be found naturally in certain reptiles. Compared to the Tsurian snake species which has unique attacks, the Dokume has not. Rather than through their mouth it's actually their claws that cause poison damage. When it defend itself, it will claw at its enemies or predators trying to bite it. The Dokume’s fur will extend and bristle to make itself appear bigger and swing it's tail up and down to intimidate it's possible enemies, and the last resort is biting with their sharp and strong teeth.
Reproduction
Both the male and female Dokume becomes sexually mature around 19 years old. They breed only once a year but the timing isn't bound to a breeding season. Unlike many other reptiles, these creatures mate for life. When a female or male looks for a mate they will make a special call to attract others of it’s kind. Males will show of by swinging their more colorful tails and slapping it to the ground to impress a female. If both individuals get along, they will start nesting and preparing for the eggs. A female lays a clutch of eggs between 10 to 20 eggs. Both parents will guard the nest and males are known to use their own body as a defense to predatory animals, and they have been known to kill predators during this stage. Young Dokume hatch after 14-15 weeks, and only a few days before they hatch the parents will both leave, as the hatchlings don’t rely on their parents. Usually more than half of them don't make it through their first year. They live hidden for their first few years, and at 3 years of age they reached their maximum size and will begin to show more. The partnership between two individuals lasts until either one of them dies. If one dies the left over individual usually looks for a new mate.
